Construction of Cardiology Suite Begins on Buhler’s Sixth Floor
The last of the departments and services on the Buhler Building/Sutter Cancer Center’s sixth floor have moved to new offices in the Old Tavern and Fort Sutter Medical Complex to make way for the construction of the new Sutter Medical Group offices for cardiologists and and other cardiac subspecialists.
The sixth floor of the Buhler Building will serve as the hub for SMG cardiology services, which include satellite offices in Citrus Heights, Folsom, Jackson and Davis. The sixth-floor build-out will house medical offices and some cardiac imaging and testing services. Currently, the SMG cardiology medical offices are located on the campus of Sutter Memorial Hospital, at 5301 F St., and they will move into their new Buhler suite in 2014.
These moves are necessary so that office space in the Buhler Building currently used for other services is converted into clinical space for our patients. This way, SMCS specialty physicians will be connected to the entire midtown campus, making our services more efficient for our patients, their families and our medical staff. This transformation is precipitating a new, more-appropriate name for the Sutter Cancer Center/Buhler Building: the Buhler Specialty Pavilion.
Currently, the third floor of the Buhler Building is going through major renovations as the hub for oncology services, most of which were already located in the Buhler Building. Buhler’s fifth floor has been home to Sutter Medical Group’s neuro services for a number of years.
